Dr Christine Chow is Head of Asia and Global Emerging Markets and the Global Lead of Technology at EOS, Federated Hermes. She has over 24 years’ experience in the investment industry.
Christine started her career as a graduate trainee at a blue-chip investment management company in the City of London, where she worked in the institutional portfolio management and Greater China teams. In the late 1990s, she was responsible for building the UK firm’s business in Asia and played a crucial role in securing strategic partners that led to the establishment of one of the first Sino-China joint venture investment firms.
Christine’s interest in responsible investment and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues started when she was a junior investment analyst. She recognised that the principal-agent problem that existed between investors and companies also exist between asset owners such as individual investors and pensioners, and the investment managers. However, in the 1990s, the concept of stewardship was very much in its nascency.
Federated Hermes is guided by the conviction that responsible investing is the best way to create long-term wealth. The company provides specialised capabilities across equity, fixed income and private markets, in addition to multi-asset strategies and proven liquidity-management solutions.
